  1. In the left menu, click Assignments.
  2. Click the assignment you want to grade.
  3. Scroll down to get to the List of Students.
  4. Check the student's status, you can only make an assessment if the student has the status Submitted.
  5. Click View files that are located at the height of the student.
  6. You enter the student's filearea. The student's documents are embedded directly on the page. If the student has submitted multiple documents, you can navigate between them in the document list under Details.
  7. Click Assessment to begin the assessment.
  8. You can assess the student using the following options. You choose whether you want to use all the options or just one of them.
  • A) Edit documents - you can edit the student's documents and provide comments in the student's submission
  • B) Knowledge requirements - mark the level the student has passed at each knowledge requirement
  • C) Feedback - provide an overall feedback on the student's submission.
  1. After you have made your assessment, click Save Assessment.
  2. If you want to grade more students, you can navigate on to the next student using  the arrows  at the top right.


  1. When you have finished your assessments, click the arrow next to the task name to return to the task page.
  2. In the assessment status category, the student has now been given the status assessment started.
  3. Various options under Assessment status:
  • A) Assessment started - You have started an assessment that is not published to the student.
  • B) Assessment published - You are finished with your assessment and it is published to the student.
  • C) Assessment not published - You are finished with your assessment but it is not published to the student.


  1. To publish an assessment for a student: Change the status from Assessment Commenced  to  Assessment published.
